Lines rise out of their own masks, and go back the way they came.
Scroll past this block and back up. Most sites play the entrance once; this one plays a shorter, differently eased exit in reverse order, so leaving a section feels deliberate rather than abrupt.
The mask leaves room for descenders.
A plain overflow:hidden wrapper slices the tails of g, y and p at rest. Opening the bottom of the clip by a third of an em keeps the top edge crisp while letting the type sit correctly. Turn on Show masks to see the boxes.
The rule draws first and hands over to the text.
A one pixel line scales from the left on a steep custom curve; the lines beneath it only start once that gesture is underway. Two elements, one sentence of motion.
Exit is faster than entry.
Entrance runs long on an expo curve; exit runs at roughly six tenths of that on a symmetric curve, from the last line to the first. The asymmetry is what stops the reverse from reading like a rewind.
